Have you been searching for a reading program that:

  • builds phonetic awareness?
  • provides sequential phonetic skills?
  • teaches phonics in story context?
  • incorporates spelling and literature?
  • provides a home-school connection?
  • is effective for your ESL students?
  • can supplement any basal or literature-based program?

The SuperBooks Program is a unique integrated reading program that incorporates phonics, spelling, and comprehension. Each SuperBooks Kit contains 200 full-color 8-page phonetic readers (5 copies each of 40 titles), 40 reproducible take-home stories and activities, and a comprehensive teacher's guide.

Story topics promote math and science concepts, environmental concerns, ethnic pride and human relationships. Each take-home book is a condensed version of the SuperBook story, providing children the opportunity to make and color their own little books to read and share at home.

The comprehensive teacher's guide contains a scope and sequence chart of skills and 40 complete lesson plans that help the teacher incorporate phonemic awareness, phonics, spelling, and comprehension. Each story has a 3-page lesson plan that promotes enjoyment of reading, reading for meaning, and application of phonics and spelling skills. Follow-up activities involve students in art, spelling, sequencing, and concept development.

KIT 1 covers consonants, short and long vowels, er, ar, ed ing.
KIT 2 covers consonants, short and long vowel review, digraphs, diphthongs.
